The whispers around Auckland lately have pretty much all been about Little Brother closing down. I heard it brought up twice on Friday night alone, everyone loves to gossip, but this has gone a bit past that, and was pretty much an accepted fact.
Little Brother being a favorite of ours, and one of NZ’s only high end menswear labels (and also the only NZ stockist of Balmain Girls done good, Marsu Homme Shoes), we thought it’d be a good idea to contact owner and creator Murray Crane to set the story straight. And he has assured us that Little Brother will NOT be shutting down. However a few changes are being made.

This range has been blogged on various blogs since Tuesday this week, although with a few pictures missing.
Here are 2 pictures that haven’t been blogged elsewhere.

Sydney based Toby Jones, this is his 2nd collection.
Toby Jones weaves antique brass and medieval chain maille with glossy contrasts and intricate symbolism. It takes a look at the hierarchies controlling our world and the tangled web of systems and pitfalls that inhibit our daily lives.
Presenting the menswear from the designers of Sydney Based myPetsQuare, this is the first collection from their new higher end alter-ego brand.

This is the second season for Melbourne based Limedrop on the blog..
A bold, playful collection of men’s and women’s fashion and wooden jewellery accessories. The collection takes you on a voyage back to childhood games and family holidays. A typical Limedrop aesthetic focusing on clean silhouettes and a unique play on colour.
Energetic blue, canary yellow and stripes are key in the colour palette of the collection creating a preppy yachting reference. Metallics coated linen, plasticised lycras and floral prints tie the collection together in a bright, well considered way.
Thanks to Nathan for the pics.
This is the second interactive jewellery collection from Sydney based design duo Milenka Osen & Georgie Swift and this is their first time on the blog.
‘Smoke & Mirrors’ is an extension and development of the former range ‘Oh Fiddlesticks’, only more challenging. A mysterious range of silver jewellery; each piece is an object of enigmatic illusion.
Inspired from ancient puzzles and games, the silver pieces remain an icon of childhood memories. They are derived from geometry and logic, and are exemplars of the very meaning of ‘smoke & mirrors’: a conjuring trick of artful deception.
With some significant down time we are back in action posting fresh Australian and New Zealand Summer 0809 and even some Winter 09 blogs.

This season Kornerd has collaborated with Sydney jewellery outfit CreateDestroyRebuild to produce a unique range of pendants. Using basic material such as wood and black acrylic, the pendants fuse modern laser cutting and engraving techniques with bold, cubic forms. The warmth of both light and stained wood grains set against glossy perspex lends and individual and timeless feel to the pieces, which also feature fine text inscrubed in the wood.
We featured them in Winter and now again in Summer, Of Cabbages & Kings from PERTH.
Diving deep for inspiration this season Of Cabbages & Kings, wants to plunge you into an aquatic adventure.
Maintaining the OC&K signature aesthetic of hideous come beautiful, the spring/summer 09 collection draws it’s inspirations from sources as wide and varied as the oceans self.
Goodey and Andrews sight everything from the illustrations of German naturalist Ernst Haeckel and the sirens paintings of Herbert Draper and to the epic 1985 album Hounds of Love by Kate Bush.
The collection trawls the oceans for similes: fabric twisted and knotted to look like fishing nets, dip dyed tips suggesting underwater flora, silk fronds floating like seaweed and structured panels imitating fish scales.
The garments embrace a much lighter mood than winter, with the use brighter colours and figure hugging garments.

For-Tomorrow are letting all our readers and avid followers know that Material Boy’s Abadigital 08 very limited range is hitting our online store within the coming few days.
