Certainly the highlight of the week, filmed by the New Zealand Herald, an interview with the lovely Dayne and Liz from Zambesi. Dayne whom designs menswear for Zambesi is also a frequent visitor to Paris Mens Fashion Week in which he is the buyer for the 7 Zambesi flagship stores; Comme des Garcons, Rick Owens and Raf Simons to name a few brands.
Here is the upcoming Summer season of Zambesi, ahead of Autumn/Winter New Zealand Fashion Week, which starts tomorrow. For-Tomorrow will be providing full NZ FW coverage.

The Zambesi show opened with a distorted image from the perspective of a person driving along a deserted road at night, while ominous and distorted music began to play. The pieces in the collection were constructed with neutral colours, with plenty of blacks, greys and whites. Many of them were drapey and whimsical, and at times were heavily layered with other pieces which were more tailored and traditionally structured. The female models wore headpieces resembling helmets made from wire, while the men were either dressed in feminine black sunhats or had their hair greased back in a way that was almost reminiscent of an underworld. All this contributed to creating a dark –and even foreboding at times—mood, progressing subtlety towards the end to one which was more romantic and otherworldly.
