Put it in a letter

Another fashion conscious international band doing the rounds is (an F-T-NZ favourite) The Kills, they played Wellington and Auckland last week, and are now in Aus for V Festival. They’ll be playing a sideshow tonight with Louis XIV at the Prince Bandroom in St Kilda… I’ll digress.

The Kills also were awarded with some free swag from eager New Zealand designers.

Read on for more info.

Jewellery label Meadowlark had this to say:

March 27, 2009

We caught up with Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince of The Kills while they were in NZ and gave them some jewellery. We have been talking with Alison for a while about our jewellery and she chose some great pieces – a serpent cocktail ring with an onyx stone and the large dagger pendant in gold. Jaime chose the anchor pendant. The Kills love Meadowlark and we love The Kills! Here are some pics of them wearing the jewellery… ”

All photo’s by Lucy Hunt

And again, it makes us wonder what Australian labels (if any) will be gifting the Kills with some free goods… We personally reckon Saint Augustine Academy (Alvin…… go on) but that’s just us… just sayin’ ya know?

BLASBERG: The jeans you’re wearing look familiar. MOSSHART: Embarrassingly enough, I think these are the exact same jeans I’ve worn on the past two tours. BLASBERG: And the gold boots?

MOSSHART: I love my gold boots. Hedi Slimane made these, and now I have three pairs of the gold, plus pairs in every other color, in black, in patent. I have a friend [at Dior] who reorders a pair for me whenever mine get tired. I challenge anyone to show me a boot I like better.

These are the boots.
